The photographer

Marica van der Meer is the person behind all these images. Her first passion in life is travelling. After working in tourism for 15 years, she decided to dedicate her professional career to the other passion in life; photography.

She cycled from the tip of Argentina to Alaska with her Canon Eos 3. The camera went 28.000 km in the bag of a bicycle.  Together they saw 15 country’s on the American continent. If you do read Dutch, you can learn more about this story in her book ‘Van vuur naar ijs’.

As a cruise manager on the European rivers, she covered all cities and sites along these waterways.

Into the digital time era she travelled over land from the Netherlands to Cape town and back. With her Canon 20D she discovered 30 country’s on the African continent.
